Morgan Equine Veterinary and Farrier Hospital Tour

Falling into Winter at Morgan Equine
Situated on 60 acres on top of a hill in the finger lakes region of upstate New York, we are a privately owned hospital with a "feels like home" atmosphere. Mostly because we live, work and play here.
The veterinary hospital consists of an examination room, observation room, conference room, laboratory and Dr. Morgans office. Dallas has a private office off of the farriers shop that is a well equipped forge with two shoeing bays adjacent to the stabling area.
Outside the hospital, Morgan Equine horses have separate living quarters. There is a dressage court, cross country course, show jumping field and a mile of groomed trails.

Studio Apartment
Utilized by guests, clients, students, visiting farriers and veterinarians and occasionally... in-laws...
A comfortable place with everything you need for a short stay. There are two beds with complete bedding, a refrigerator with a few items, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, sink and shower. We offer this studio free of charge and we expect that you will leave it in the same condition that you found it in.
Farriers that would like to visit, here are a few helpful hints:
1. If you are flying, the best chance of getting a ride to and from the airport, is to fly into Ithaca NY (ITH).
2. You are responsible for all of your meals. We can usually get you to the grocery store once you are here. Eat a good breakfast and be ON TIME to leave or start the day. Be prepared to pack and bring your own lunch or snacks with you. Dallas typically does not stop for lunch. Dr. Morgan will stop eventually, but it is strongly recommended to bring a drink and snack. Most days end around 6 pm if you are on the road.
3. Bring layers of clothing and shoes that are waterproof.
4. Girls; no mid riff please. Fellas; no back riff please. If you plan on riding while you are here, bring your boots or half chaps, as we likely have a helmet.
5. No need to bring hand tools unless you are wanting to forge. Forging time is typically after hours on your own. You are free to use the shop as you like. We ask that you cover the expense of propane and steel that you use. Dallas will evaluate what you have produced the next day.
6. Bring your apron. Be prepared to push a broom, pull, prep and finish and work in the mid section of the van.
7. Study up on limb anatomy. There are plenty of reference books available here, but start thinking about proper terminology before you come. We use the big words.
